SARASOTA, Fla.– Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. (NASD OTC Bulletin Board: ‘SUNV’), a renewable energy and energy conservation company, announced today that it has acquired the exclusive rights to patents that allow it to expand its existing product offering into the extended-life and security LED lighting markets.

The patents acquired, which include a critical electromechanical patent, enable Sunovia’s EvoLuciaTM LED lighting fixtures to differentiate between a power failure and the power being turned-off at the switch. This proprietary feature allows Sunovia the ability to market LED lighting products that remain illuminated during power outages. This system integration is especially important in countries that experience frequent blackouts, and also to domestic customers that are concerned with weather events. Currently, the availability of products with this important feature is limited to a hardwire fixture that must be wired into the electrical outlet. The acquisition of these patents allows Sunovia the unique ability to deliver a wireless product to the market that can be safely and simply installed by anyone that can use a screw driver. In addition, the wireless aspect of the product allows Sunovia the ability to deliver a product to the retro-fit market rather than be confined to new construction.

Carl Smith, Sunovia’s CEO and Chairman of the Board, stated, “The acquisition, development and integration of proprietary technologies within the burgeoning energy conservation markets is the primary focus of our business plan; and our continued ability to deliver practical and energy efficient solutions to the global lighting markets will further solidify our position as a rising player within this immense market.”

About Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc.

Sunovia Energy Technologies is a Sarasota, Fla.-based renewable energy and energy conservation company that is developing an advanced and cost-effective cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar cell technology. Sunovia is also the owner of the energy-efficient LED lighting product line, EvoLuciaTM. The EvoLuciaTM brand is CE, FCC, TUV and IP23 regulatory approved, and is now marketed worldwide.

Sunovia owns a significant equity interest in Illinois-based EPIR Technologies, Inc. (www.epir.com), one of the most advanced IR sensor and IR imaging companies in the world. EPIR’s knowledge, experience and expertise in the growth of CdTe, HgCdTe and other II-VI semiconductors equal or exceed any other company in the world. Their prowess in this area is unmatched and has been endorsed by the award of unprecedented congressional funds for the development of a manufacturing capability for CdTe on Si and the award of a patent for growing CdTe directly on a Si readout integrated circuit. EPIR and Sunovia have a network of close collaborative relationships with the major Defense Department and industrial labs involved in IR detection and imaging, including the Army Research Laboratory, the Night Vision Electronic Sensors Directorate, BAE Systems, and other laboratories around the world.

For more information or to view Sunovia’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, visit www.sunoviaenergy.com.

Forward-Looking Statement

Some of the statements made by Sunovia in this press release are forward-looking in nature. Actual results may differ materially from those projected in forward-looking statements. Sunovia believes that its primary risk factors include, but are not limited to: development and maintenance of strategic acquisitions; domestic and international acceptance of our product lines; defending our intellectual property and proprietary rights; development of new products and services that meet customer demands and generate acceptable margins; successfully completing commercial testing of new technologies and systems to support new products and services; and attracting and retaining qualified management and other personnel. Additional information concerning these and other important factors can be found within Sunovia’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Statements in this press release should be evaluated in light of these important factors.

SARASOTA, Fla.-Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. (NASD OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV), a renewable energy and energy conservation company, has announced the successful installation of its EvoLuciaTM LED light engines at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. EvoLuciaTM light engines are a total LED system solution integrating technologies proprietary to Sunovia, including LED thermal management, power conversion, and electro-optical and mechanical designs.

On July 16th, UNCW unveiled the new energy-efficient, environmentally friendly luminaires installed on the prestigious Chancellor’s Walk. UNCW officials selected the Chancellor’s Walk, which acts as the main pedestrian artery through campus, as the ideal location to reveal their campus-wide environmental impact program which is being implemented by UNCW Facility Manager Steve Pickard and UNCW’s maintenance department.

The goals of the program include reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. By installing Sunovia’s LED lighting, UNCW will enjoy a savings of more than $50,000 over the lifetime of the lights (approximately 50,000 hours when operated 12 hours a day). Additionally, carbon emissions will be reduced by 35,812 pounds per year, or $895 in cleanup costs (based on the $50-per-ton calculation specified in the McKinsey & Company greenhouse gas emissions study).

The new 48-watt luminaires replace single 150-watt high-pressure sodium luminaries, and were selected as alternatives to the twin 175-watt metal halide luminaires the University was originally considering. Beacon Products’ LED optical and integration technology, coupled with EvoLucia’sTM aggressive research and development in LED light sources, proved the possibility of providing light levels comparable to 175-watt Metal Halide sources while consuming one-fourth the energy. The nearly half-mile lighting system consumes less than 2000 watts of electricity; comparable traditional lighting systems would consume nearly 8000 watts of electricity.

In addition to reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, EvoLuciaTM lighting will improve the quality of light on campus. Pickard explains that while UNCW is extremely sensitive to the environmental and economic impacts of their campus-wide lighting system, the new LED luminaires are also very much a part of a campus-wide security enhancement program. Beacon’s indirect optical system and EvoLucia’sTM light engine provide an even blanket of light which produces very little glare and increases the overall quality of light on Chancellor’s Walk.

Sunovia’s VP of Global Logistics and Business Development, John LaCorte, stated, “We are very pleased to be a part of UNCW’s Green Initiative, and applaud the university for taking a leadership role in the conservation of energy and the preservation of the planet.”

Chris Bailey of Beacon Products added, “What we are doing is empowering universities, municipalities and other customers to utilize the advances EvoLuciaTM and Beacon Products have made in solid-state lighting to benefit the communities of this generation and generations to come.”

Sarasota Herald-Tribune

The spotlight was on Sarasota County this week at the governor’s annual climate change summit in Miami.

Local businesses and an elected official were featured in the event, which attracted investors, environmental advocates and political leaders from around the world.

Now county leaders are hoping to parlay that exposure into business growth.

“We have an opportunity to leverage this into economic development,” said Sarasota County Commissioner Shannon Staub, who spoke at the conference about the county’s efforts in the areas of sustainable development and energy efficiency.

Staub said the new energy reform law signed by Gov. Charlie Crist this week — which emphasizes alternative and renewable energy — will lead to more energy-related start-up companies in Florida. And existing energy companies will open offices in Florida.

The goal is for them to call Sarasota home, she said.

“We need a more aggressive recruitment effort,” she said.

Sarasota already has a number of clean energy businesses, some featured in a video created by Environmental Defense, a national business-oriented environmental group with an office in downtown Sarasota.

The video was shown to everyone at the conference Wednesday night. Sarasota companies Sunovia Energy Technologies, Solar by Harrimans, Eco Technologies, Alternative Construction Technologies and Cruise Car Inc. took center stage.

Sunovia spokeswoman Kristen Watson said the Sarasota region has been an ideal location for her business, which manufactures a low-energy light bulb and is developing more efficient solar panels.

“We’ve garnered almost $15 million from local investors who believe in what we’re doing, so there’s an amazing level of support in this community,” she said.

Staub said support could always increase.

“There’s a lot of businesses out there without us really doing anything,” she said. “But now I think it’s incumbent on us to put forward a more aggressive economic development effort.”

-Zac Anderson

SARASOTA, Fla.–Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. (NASD OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to provide LED lighting solutions to The Varon Group. The Volume Purchase Agreement calls for Sunovia to develop LED lighting components and products for the companies of the Varon Group, including Beacon Products and Precision Lighting. Sunovia will deliver the initial 2,000 units in July 2008.

Sunovia’s systems integration and engineering teams completed the development of the initial EvoLuciaTM LED lighting products earlier this year, and formally presented the units to the lighting industry during the Light Fair Conference in Las Vegas in May, 2008. Sunovia is currently working to complete additional LED integrations, and expects to have them available to the market during the third quarter of 2008.

“The companies of the Varon Group have earned a reputation of providing world-class lighting products to their customers, and it is now our responsibility to assist in the perpetuation of this well deserved distinction,” stated Bob Fugerer, president and CTO of Sunovia. “I believe that this agreement is a validation of our technical designs and is a key step in our goal to become a primary systems integrator and components provider to the global LED lighting markets,” added Fugerer.

Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc., a Sarasota-based renewable energy and energy conservation company, has been awarded an LED lighting contract by the city of Fairview, Texas. The contract calls for Sunovia to provide its energy-efficient EvoLucia LED lighting for a major thoroughfare in Fairview, Sunovia CEO Carl Smith said. That contract is worth about $500,000, Smith said, but could lead to a much-larger job installing the lights throughout Fairview.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. (NASD OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a LED lighting contract by the city of Fairview, Texas. The contract calls for Sunovia to provide its energy-efficient EvoLucia™ LED lighting products for street lighting within the city.

By replacing typical metal halide and/or incandescent lights with Sunovia’s proprietary LED lighting products, municipalities and other customers typically save more than 75% in electrical costs, and therefore reduce carbon emissions by the same percentage. These electrical savings have allowed Sunovia to develop a financing program whereby the cost of the EvoLucia™ LED lights is offset largely by the electrical savings enjoyed as a result of the installation.

“The environmental and energy-efficient vision of Fairview’s city council is simply a pleasure to work around, and I am confident that their leadership will have a domino effect on other cities within the state of Texas and around the country,” stated Bob Fugerer, president and CTO of Sunovia. “I believe that the city of Fairview will be a springboard for the company to secure additional opportunities and projects in the future, and I am proud of the work that our company, and specifically our engineering team, is doing in this important area of the industry,” added Fugerer.
